The Center for Juvenile Justice (CJJ) is an non-profit organization which provides free/low cost legal defense to indigent youth accused of crimes and status offenses.  CJJ employs a holistic approach to representation to include collaboration with the family, probation, police, courts, therapists, social workers and agencies involved with youth and the community. 



CJJ advocates for children in the courtroom, the classroom and in the community.  CJJ will advocate to keep children at home and out of detention.  CJJ will advocate for the juvenile justice system to rehabilitate children as it was originally intended.




CJJ educates law students utilizing a clinical format to include a classroom component, simulations and supervised legal practice.  CJJ sponsors and presents workshops and training seminars to educate the community and youth about juvenile delinquency prevention, adolescent development, the juvenile justice system, alternatives to incarceration, legal rights for youth, and juvenile life imprisonment.

Colorado Assessment

The National Defender Center and Colorado Juvenile Defender Coalition have released a very important report.  Please review and note the significant concerns about access to counsel at all stages of juvenile delinquency proceedings and the recognition of the Center for Juvenile Justice as a promising and innovative practice.
